It was a disappointing night on two fronts for the lightning organization. Firstly, the team lossed in five games to their rival the Florida Panthers. Secondly their head coach John Cooper, made a extremely sexist remark after the loss which has landed him in hot water. Today, Cooper apologized for his remark as he addressed the media.

Whether it was truly how he felt or an remark in a heated moment, Cooper made the statement of their goalies should have put skirts on them which led to a firestorm across the web.

"We might has well put skirts on them then... I think we're letting the goalies off the hook."

It was clear that Cooper felt embarrassed had ashamed of himself for making that statement as he has two daughters of his own. He even went on to say that the comment was making him feel worse then the loss to the Panthers itself.

The Lightning organization have many decisions to make in the coming months on whether to keep Cooper as head coach as he remains locked in a contract till 2024 -2025 or release him after their second first round loss in the past two years.

The team also has several roster decisions to make including Steven Stamkos as he will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of this playoff.

It is proper that he did come out and get ahead of this and apologized to all that were offended. However, it will still linger for some time and remains to be seen on whether that could move their decision or not.
