League Officially Mandates Major New Equipment Policy
USA Hockey today approved legislation requiring the use of neck laceration protection for players in all age classifications, other than adults, starting August 1.
This will apply to games and practices, as well as for on-ice officials under the age of 18.
It has been a long time coming for this, especially with the tragic death of Adam Johnson back in October.
Hopefully the NHL will soon follow this mandate.
