John Tortorella put on another show with the press prior to the game against Boston.
The Kevin Hayes - Cutter Gauthier rumors had sent shockwaves through the NHL and to the Philadelphia Flyers after Anthony San Filippo dropped a rumour that former Flyers forward Kevin Hayes was partly responsible for Cutter Gauthier deciding to leave the team abruptly.
This rumour drew the ire of head coach John Tortorella as he seeked him out during a presser two weeks ago.
In standard Tortorella fashion he set the room on fire with his comments and singled out SanFilippo giving him his two cents.
Fast forward to last evening when the Flyers were prepping to play against the Boston Bruins, torts realize that he was looking at the same man who started that rumour and decided to cancel him right in front of the media scrum.
It remains to be seen whether he will continue to be at these press conferences as the coach will no longer take his questions.
It's good that torts is defending players including former players that he may not always agreed with and shows that he is truly a players coach.
