New York Rangers defenseman expected to sign major deal this offseason
It appears that New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren and the New York Rangers may come to terms soon.
According to Arthur Staple of the The Athletic who covers the New York Rangers, the team and Lindgren are set to finalize a deal, before the arbitration date.
«Lindgren's arbitration hearing is slated for Aug. 2,» Staple writes. «So that's probably the deadline by which you'll see agreement on what will most likely be a one-year deal in the vicinity of Lindgren's $3.6 million qualifying offer.»
While Lindgren did file for arbitration, it shouldn't be of any concern to Rangers fans as he will be back in New York.
The team didn't make major changes to their defensive core, meaning Lindgren will be a key piece in the team's future.
This past season, Lindgren scored 17 points(3 G, 14 A) in 76 games, while averaging 19:01 TOI.
New York recently re-signed Braden Schneider and veteran Chad Ruhwedel.
