The New York Rangers and Vancouver Canucks made a blockbuster trade this week that sent J.T. Miller back to Broadway in exchange for Filip Chytil, Victor Mancini, and two draft picks. GM Chris Drury made a statement on the Rangers goals after the trade.

The New York Rangers have to turn their season around if they're to make it to the playoffs in 2025.
In doing so, they augmented their center depth, as J.T. Miller returned to the NHL team who drafted him.
He'd waive his no-trade clause to become a Blueshirt again. The New York Rangers drafted him 15th overall in the 2011 NHL Draft.
Miller would make his debut with the Rangers in 2012 and found his way back after landing in Tampa Bay, and Vancouver after eight years.
GM Chris Drury would make a statement after the trade, which most importantly focused on the competitive advantage Miller would bring. He wants to bring in talent like Miller to keep winning after a good string of games in January.
He also mentioned that he wouldn't have made the deal for Miller if he didn't feel comfortable with what he'd bring to the team.
Miller adds needed depth down the middle for the Rangers. It may be painful to give up Filip Chytil, and Victor Mancini, but for teams who are contenders, selling off your top talent is a way of life.
Miller's played 40 games for the Canucks this season and scored 35 points (9 G, 26 A) and a -4.
Did GM Chris Drury do a great job with the J.T. Miller trade?
