New York Rangers: Official asking price for Patrik Laine now revealed
The Columbus Blue Jackets and General Manager, Don Waddell are ready to trade Patrik Laine.
Patrick Laine is still currently in the NHL/NHLPA players assistance program, but that hasn't stopped many teams from showing interest in acquiring the forward.
However, a few issues emerge for NHL teams is that he carries an expensive $8.7 Million cap hit, which runs through 2025-2026, and he also has a 10-team no-trade list.
The Blue Jackets offer to retain a portion of Laine's contract, just to make a trade happen sooner.
According to Aaron Portzline of the Athletic, the Blue Jackets are looking for a package of prospects rather than making a one-for-one trade.
Now that the official asking price is revealed for Patrik Laine, could the New York Rangers and General Manger, Chris Drury consider making some significant moves for Laine?
The first thing Drury would have to make sure that the Rangers are not on Laine's no-trade list, which would be hard to believe considering it's one of the original six franchises.
