New York Rangers sign 29-year old forward Adam Eren to Professional Tryout
The New York Rangers have signed 29-year old forward to a new contract just weeks before training camp starts.
It was announced on Tuesday morning by NHL insider Darren Dreger, that the New York Rangers have signed 29-year old Adam Erne to a Professional Tryout (PTO).
Erne spent last season with the Edmonton Oilers and only managed to tally one goal in 24 games, 68 hits, and an even plus/minus rating.
Hopefully by signing Erne to a PTO, the Rangers will now have another option to consider for their bottom six. If the Rangers are impressed with Erne at trading camp and decide to sign him, he could definitely be a valuable 13th forward or a call-up option for the organization next season.
Adam Erne has played 379 career NHL games over 8 seasons in the National Hockey League. However, these NHL games were split between the Tampa Bay Lightning, Detroit Red Wings, and Oilers, where Erne tallied 41 goals, 50 assists, 91 points, 180 penalty minutes, and 880 hits.
