New York Rangers head coach Peter Laviolette revaels upper management called a meeting right after losing to 5-1 to the New Jersey Devils.

Following the New York Rangers game on Monday night, head coach Peter Laviolette took a while to arrive for his postgame press conference.

It has been reported that Laviolette always comes out right away and on time, but apparently on Monday night the media had to wait for about 15-20 minutes, before he showed up.

As the media had to wait, there was some confusion and questions that started to arise as this has never happened before, and with the Rangers recent struggles this wasn't a good sign.

However, Peter Laviolette ultimately addressed the media on why he was late, here's what he said according to Vince Z. Mercogliano:

On why he took longer than usual to come to the podium last night, Laviolette said «That was just some meetings in the room. That's all.»

From what I've heard, those impromptu meetings involved both coaches and management.

As the postgame press conference was underway, Peter Laviolette held his composure and never revealed anything that took place during the meeting.

With Laviolette's track record with the New York Rangers and him being in the middle of season two of his three-year contract it's unlikely that he will get fired mid-season.

But one thing is certain, changes are coming to the New York Rangers as they have lost they have lost six of their last seven games.

Along with the Rangers currently being tied in fourth place of metropolitan division with the Philadelphia Flyers. Leaving Laviolette with a lot to fix before it's too late.
