The New York Rangers are on fire to start the 2024-2025 NHL season and have yet to lose in regulation play.

The team is 4-0-1 and will get Ryan Lindgren back in the lineup tonight on the bottom pair with Victor Mancini.

With excellent goal-tending and an average of 4.80 goals per game, the Rangers look to make the Habs into another victim.

Former NHL Assistant Coach and infamous announcer, Pierre McGuire believes there's something setting the Rangers apart from the rest of the league.

«You know what's amazing about the Rangers, I've watched every one of their games so far this year. I don't think I've seen a team pass the puck better this NHL season than the New York Rangers,» McGuire explained on TSN 690 in Montreal.

The team has a highly skilled top-six with Chris Kreider, Mika Zibanejad, Reilly Smith, Artemi Panarin, and Alexis Lafreniere, in the offense.

While in the defense they have skilled puck movers, and skaters like Adam Fox, and K'Andre Miller.

The reason the Rangers have been dominant early is the fact they can move the puck with ease and carve out defenses.

«Just watch them pass the puck,» McGuire continued. «Right now, they're the best passing team in the League and they've got to be considered one of the top three teams in the NHL right now. They're that good of a team, they really are.»

Another reason to love Peter Laviolette, who has been a revelation for the Rangers who have seen mediocrity from coaches such as David Quinn with the team in the past.

Gerard Gallant offered some hope but was unable to take the team far and now Laviolette's setting the team up for success for a 2nd season in a row.

The Rangers have built chemistry successfully, and Reilly Smith's inclusion into the lineup has been a coup for GM Chris Drury and Laviolette.

Not only is Panarin one of the top in the league with points( tied with Cale Makar, and Nikita Kucherov) but the Rangers are deep enough they don't need to rely upon Breadman alone.

«I would defy anybody who say's they've watched the Rangers play and it's all just about Panarin, it's not,» explained McGuire. «Kreider has been good, Zibanejad is getting better all the time, Alexis Lafreniere just continues to evolve into this great power forward, Filip Chytil is finally coming to the floor.»

Tonight against the Canadiens they'll be able to show their skills, as they take on a rebuilding team in one of the best barns in the league.

The "Frozen Frenzy" tonight will show how lethal the Rangers defense is, and we're excited about the prospects of another winning season.
