Recently, thedailyfaceoff.com's CEO Frank Seravalli has stated that Oilers defenseman Cody Ceci maybe on the move soon and that the Rangers maybe the best fit.

The Oilers are currently in a cap crunch and may be required to make a trade or two to free up cap space as they wish to continue to revamp the roster. Seravalli feels that Ceci would make the most sense as he holds a $3.25 million per year cap hit.

Ceci have had his share of ups and downs as he has played, I'm three different teams in five seasons. He is a right-handed shot defenseman and can log steady minutes that are equivalent to a top 4 defenseman. He has also made some gaffes in his game which has led many fans two what him created from the roster.

It seems the Rangers would be a great fit only if their captain Jacob Trouba was traded along with his $8 million in cap space. If they were to move Trouba out of the organization, moving a player like Ceci would be a cost-effective move who can still provide decent defense.

Rangers general manager Chris Drury has been attempting to make a trade for Trouba over the past several weeks and it seems that he is interested in revamping his roster as he had moved Barclay Goodrow to the waiver wire who was then claimed by the San Jose Sharks opening $3.6 million.

With both teams looking to change into open cap space, there's certainly a trade that could be done and Ceci would likely head to New York City.
