Igor Shesterkin may be the club's engine, it's soul and starting goalie, but he is also the most humble too.

When he was asked about his 2024 NHL All-Star nomination, Shesterkin answered the question surprisingly:

«I was actually so skeptical about this because I understood that I don't deserve to be there Well, in my understanding, it should've been Quick,» Shesterkin said. «It was psychologically hard for me that I didn't deserve it and so on, the percentage of saved shots when I was an All-Star was 89 percent.»

Shestrkin's regular season performance regularly shone brighter than that of Jonathan Quick's season.

However, when Shesterkin's play was down in the dumps, early in the season, Quick stepped up his play. He helped take pressure off of the Rangers top goalie

Quick would start 26 games for the Rangers, with an 18-6-2 record, with a 2.62 GAA and a .911 save percentage.

While Shesterkin started 55 games for the Rangers, with a 36-17-2 record, 2.58 GAA, and a.913 save percentage.

The Rangers value Quick's contributions so much, that they signed the goalie to a one-year extension. And in today's NHL, a team needs two solid goalies to take the team deep into the regular season and playoffs.

Quick and Shesterkin are currently among the best tandems in the league.
