One Of The Rangers' Best Player Offers Perspective Of The Team's Potential Success
Speed is the name of the game.
Swedish center
Mika Zibanejad offered his perspective of the Rangers' speed before last night's 5-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres.
This comment possibly also stems from last year's disappointing first round playoff loss to the New Jersey Devils, after going up 2-0 in the series, and then dropping four of the next five games.
Speed was considered a decisive factor in the loss, as the Rangers could not keep up with the young and speedy Devils.
We did see a new style of game with the Rangers last night, something we haven't seen in the two seasons with Gerard Gallant as head coach.
The Rangers' offense had a flow and control of tempo from the first two lines, and did give a sense of speed and explosion that wasn't expected before the season started.
Of course, it's only the first game of the season.
Let's see if Mika Zibanejad is right about the team's newfound aspect of speed when they face off against the Columbus Blue Jackets, Saturday, October 14, at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
