Put This Man's Name In The Vezina Trophy Nominees Ballot Now!
It wasn't pretty, it was gritty, and a real nail biter till the very end, but thankfully the Rangers never wavered, and they managed to hang on to the 2-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes to win their sixth straight.
Later today, we will hear the status of Adam Fox and Filip Chytil after they were taken out of the game due to a lower-body and upper-body injury respectively.
Hopefully it's nothing serious for either of them.
While we wait, let's show some love to the backbone of this team. The man who always delivers, Igor Shesterkin.
He was remarkable. Let's show the numbers from yesterday's game.
The man has stopped 27 of 28 shots, winning his fourth straight game with the team undermanned around him, and he still makes incredibly clutch saves to keep the lead for the Rangers at the tail end of the game.
Shesterkin is a modest man, yet, he had to give himself some props for his performance yesterday.
"Honestly, in the third period, I felt really good. So glad I got to face a lot of shots. Finally." -Igor Shesterkin
With the win, Shesterkin's stats for the season are 6-2-0 with a .913 Sv% and a 2.36 GAA. Still a tad off his career numbers, as he had a rocky start with the first four games of the season.
But now he has gotten hot with this four-game win streak, and it doesn't look like he will be cooling off.
The Rangers will now be back on the road as they face off against the Minnesota Wild Saturday, November 4, at the Xcel Energy Center, in St. Paul.
Milestone Alert! The Rangers are now 10 wins away from becoming the fifth franchise in league history to achieve 3,000 wins!
