PWHL New York has officially released their new name and logo for the 2024-25 season
The PWHL had a very successful inaugural season that saw some pretty solid attendance numbers and gained a lot of interest from fans.
Last season the PWHL played their entire season without an officially team name or jersey logos, but that has all changed this season as it was announced this morning that all six teams have released their official names and logos.
The six teams are now called, the New York Sirens, Boston Fleet, Minnesota Frost, the Victoire de Montreal, the Ottawa Charge, and finally the Toronto Sceptres.
Definitely some pretty unique names that are not seen very often in other sports, along with their logo choices.
The New York Sirens have released the true meaning behind their team name with an official statement on X:
«Inspired by the exhilarating blare of the goal siren, the New York Sirens is an ode to the hustle, rhythm and swagger of NYC.
The goal siren is an urgent call to take to the ice and triumph at the speed of sound and New York itself - the city you can't stop but you can always hear coming.»
Truly a major step for Women's Professional Hockey, hopefully the league will continue to grow has it inspires so many young female athletes and many others around the sport of hockey.
