Rangers Are Still Awaiting Their First Round Opponent Tonight
The Rangers aren't playing tonight. But it's still been a fun night of hockey, watching to see who might be our first round opponent.
The Capitals and Flyers are tied 1-1 heading into the third period.
A Capitals win would clinch the playoff spot and lock up the first-round matchup.
But if the Flyers pull it off in regulation, the Penguins and Red Wings remain alive for that final wild card spot, along with the Flyers, provided the Red Wings win their game tonight over the Canadiens, in which case, would eliminate the Penguins.
The Red Wings are currently tied 3-3 in the third period.
As for the Flyers, even if the game is tied, look for them to pull their goalie late in the third, for they will be eliminated if the game goes into overtime.
After one more period of both games, we might know who the Rangers first round opponent is.
