The Rangers are one of the more well rounded teams in the league.

Known more for their excellent goaltending, gritty defense, and balanced offense.

Not many realize they are also capable of having an explosive, scoring night, especially in the frequency they've been able to manage.

The Edmonton Oilers are the most offensively potent team, primarily because of their individual players are some of the most dynamic goal scorers in recent memory, with arguably the best player in the league in Connor McDavid, with a league leading 64 goals and 153 points total last season, a season that rivaled the likes of Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux.

Also leading the pack is Leon Draisaitl with his 52 goals and 128 points, and a pair of 35 plus goal scorers in Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Zach Hyman. All of them have a combination of speed, awareness, and shot making that makes them a lethal group.

The Rangers' leading scorer last season was Mika Zibanejad at 39 goals and 91 points. Second was Chris Kreider with 36 goals and 54 points.

Nothing eye popping when compared to the Oilers' top four guys. However, what tends to help with the Rangers achieving nearly the same level of scoring potency, is the transition from defense to offense within the blink of an eye.

With incredible defensemen players like Adam Fox, K'Andre Miller and Jacob Trouba, they can force turnovers, block shots and suffocate the opposing teams' best players, and transition quickly into offense and handle the puck just as well to create better placed shots for the main goal scorers.

When they play their best, all around game, they can be just as lethal as the very best in the game, if not more so.
