Recent reports suggest the New York Rangers are looking to acquire a big-time player from the Pacific Division.

According to reports from The Athletic, the Rangers have inquired about Vancouver Canucks forward J.T. Miller.

The Rangers «recently inquired with the Canucks about J.T. Miller» according to @StapeAthletic

Here's what Arthur Staple and Peter Baugh of the Athletic had wrote about the situation:

«A league source said the Rangers recently inquired with the Canucks about J.T. Miller, who is currently on an indefinite leave of absence,»

They then continued by stating some facts:

«Miller was a 2011 first-round pick by the Rangers and has been coveted by Drury before - the Rangers were after Miller before the 2021-22 trade deadline, but wouldn't include Braden Schneider in a deal. Miller then signed a seven-year extension worth $8-million a year, pulling him off the market.»

Recently Miller took an indefinite leave from the Canucks organization on November 19th due to personal reason and has not play since then.

"Right now, our sole focus is making sure that J.T. knows the entire organization is here to support him,"

However, Rangers General Manager Chris Drury is reportedly interested in reuniting with the former forward, a move that would certainly shake up their roster.

The 31-year old forward was drafted by the Rangers back in 2011 and he played six seasons in New York before being traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Just last season Miller put up a career high as he managed to tally 37 goals, 66 assists for a total of 103 points in 81 games.
