The New York Rangers season appears to be in a precarious position as the team hopes to turn things around quickly as they prepare for a meeting against their division rivals the Philadelphia Flyers.

Losers of their last four games in a row, the Rangers currently sitting 12-8-1 and their sitting in a wild card position.

It's been a tough stretch of games as the Rangers had blown a third period lead during their game against the Carolina Hurricanes where they lost 4-3.

This Black Friday matinee game could certainly be a teams measuring stick as the Flyers have brought their season back to life enter now sitting 10-10-3 and are right on the heels of the Rangers.

There will be some opportunity for the Rangers to beat the Flyers as the Flyers are currently one of the worst defensive teams in the NHL. They have allowed 3.39 goals against on average which puts them at 27th in the NHL.

Flyers rookie goaltender Ivan Fedotov has not had the start he had hoped since coming over from Russia as he currently has a goals against a 3.69 and has looked shaky at times.

The Rangers will have an opportunity to take advantage of this situation and potentially run up the score sheet against the Flyers. The Rangers are currently dealing with injuries including centerman Filip Chytil as he has missed seven games with an upper body injury.

That has put head coach Peter Laviolette in a bind and has decided to add Kappo Kakko at centre to try to see if he can handle the position and give him an option that he so desperately needs.

This game is a recipe for the Rangers to have a good outcome and find a way to stop their skid and get back to the winning ways that all Rangers fans have become accustomed to.

It's been a tough sell and a tough team to watch considering that they were the best team in the NHL last year and showed no signs of slowing down especially in their second half and the playoffs.

The game will be held at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, and you'll be able to watch the game on MSG2 on Friday November 29th at 1:00 PM eastern.
