Rangers legend Mark Messier demands New Yorks head coach Peter Laviolette to make changes ahead of game 2 of ECF.

Messier believes Laviolette was being too careful' and too old-fashioned' after taking a tough 3-0 loss during game 1 of the Eastern Conference finals. Is demands are quite simple, he warts Laviolette to put rookie enforcer Matt Rempe back in the lineup.

This is what Mark Messier had to say during the second period intermission on ESPN:

«They gotta get themselves emotional,» Messier said. «Maybe they should think about having [Matt] Rempe in the lineup. I'm not questioning the coach, but I am saying he does get in on the forecheck. He does ground and pound. He does get the crowd involved and the players seem to follow that kind of mindset.

«Right now they're playing, in my opinion, they're a little too careful.»

Messier has always been a fan of Rempe and what he offers for the team, he just believes it's missing from New Yorks playoff run.

Now this doesn't mean Laviolette will make any changes considering more guys like Blake Wheeler are getting healthier and returning to the lineup, but considering this is the first time the Rangers have been shut out on home ice since the first round of playoffs in 2016, this should lead to a few changes.
