There has been a growing problem with the Rangers top line with Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider unable to score any goals five on five.

Even though the team has been playing well and continues to hold a position at the top of the metro division, this issue needs to be addressed as soon as possible as both these players will need to score five on five during a playoff series.

During one of the media scrums, head coach Peter Laviolette was asked whether he feels confident these two players can find their way on the score sheet five on five.

As dynamic as they are on the power play, the coaching staff needs to recognize that this is not working and that they will need to look for other options including the trade market to finding a a forward who can compliment them.

One such player is Kyle Okposo.

Kyle Okposo, spent the bulk of his career with the New York Islanders as he was drafted in 2006 in the first round seven pick overall.

He is a veteran and still has a knack to putting the puck in the net. Over the past 59 games, he has scored twelve goals with 10 assists for 22 points and is a + 2.

Being on the Buffalo Sabres certainly does not bode well for his numbers and if he were to come to the Rangers he certainly would see a growth in his scoring ability rather quickly.

It remains to be seen on whether general manager Chris Drury will look add a player like Kyle Okposo.

There's also well over 20 games left in the season for Lavi to try new ideas on how to coax those two superstars into scoring 5 on five.
