Strategy shift may be coming to Rangers trade deadline plans
For the past number of weeks, the Rangers and their management team have been looking across the league for anyone who can help them offensively.
With the third line in a desperate need of an upgrade and adding offence to their top 9 has certainly become a priority for the Rangers.
However, it appears that the Rangers may be willing to add a defenseman with size along with offence rather than just the latter.
As the old saying goes you can never have too many defensemen.
As the salary cap will no longer apply during the playoffs, the rangers along with all the other teams in the NHL will be allowed to carry as many players as they want on their roster.
Adding a defenseman with muscle can never go wrong as that kind of style play becomes mainstream.
With many teams looking for defensemen, the crop that's available is at a premium and it remains to be seen if the Rangers can find a diamond in the rough who can fill the roles they need.
The trade deadline will end on Friday March 8th at 3:00 PM eastern.
