Rangers May Be Making A Major Mistake In Acquiring Previously Injured Forward
The Rangers are now reportedly linked to Tyler Johnson with Elias Lindholm off the table.
Johnson has recorded 13 points (nine goals, four assists) in 35 games this season. he is currently on IR with an undisclosed upper-body injury that he suffered on Jan. 2.
He earns $5 million this season and becomes an unrestricted free agent this summer.
Five million is a lot to take on for a depth center, but he could fit right into the Rangers third-line role.
The only major concern is the injury history, especially the last couple of seasons. But the Rangers do need to add depth at the center position, especially with the loss of Filip Chytil for the season.
Let's see what they pull off.
