Rangers reporter claims Chris Drury is not pleased with this young star
Kaapo Kakko and the New York Rangers have been a leading talk this off-season, mainly on what the Rangers are going to do with Kakko.
Well, according to Rangers reporter Vince Moncagliano, New York has been looking into trading Kakko, but they haven't found an offer they're pleased with.
Kakko, 23, hasn't found his stride on the Rangers yet, despite being bounced all around the lineup. Being the second overall pick in 2019, Kaapo came in with a lot of pressure and a lot to live up to, and he just hasn't cut it.
The following quote is from Vince.
«I'm pretty sure they're dangling Kaapo Kakko and will pursue deals to possibly move him this summer. I think they're not thrilled with the offers that they've gotten so far which is why he's still on the roster. They kind of need him right now. I still think it's a possibility he gets traded... (but) his status is up in the air... I'm not sure what's out there that would really be an obvious deal that the Rangers can make.»
He added afterwards that he could see a trade with the Jets, with a return of Nikolaj Ehlers and Rutger McGroarty.
