It's incredible to think that this team was the best team in the NHL last year with 55 wins and appeared to be in the driver's seat for many years to come. This season, has been an utter disaster after roaring out of the gate and now appears to be barely able to hang on to their playoff spot.
The Rangers faithful booed their team for the second time at Madison Square Garden as the team appeared beaten and disinterested in trying to find a solution to their problems.
The messaging from the coaching staff appears to be the same and at times a broken record as head coach Peter Laviolette has looked increasingly frustrated as the losing streak and dismal play continues.
Over the past 12 games, the team has gone 3-9-0 and many question marks around this teams roster design and the apparent internal issues that face them including trading their captain who was beloved by many players to the Anaheim Ducks in Jacob Trouba.
As the slump continues, it's likely the Rangers will do something major and drastic. Many fans and pundits around the league feel that the next shoe will drop as Rangers owner James Dolan will not stand to see their team continued to fall apart and will demand changes immediately.
In my view I expect numerous changes to arrive including a head coaching change, and several trades as the Rangers may consider a retool and change the makeup of this roster in a hurry.
