Reporter Asks, Laviolette Answers, Even If The Answer Is Obvious
Hopefully head coach of the New York Rangers, Peter Laviolette, doesn't snooze off from the question.
A reporter asking the long tenured head coach if the upcoming game against the Nashville Predators has any extra meaning due to the long, nine-day road trip the Rangers will be embarking.
He gives his answer here:
Well said by Laviolette.
All games on the schedule are equally as important, regardless of who is next on the docket, or when. Whether it's the first game of the season, or the 82nd game, or the second of a back-to-back, the goal at the end of the day is to win and make the playoffs to compete for the Stanley Cup Championship.
Every point counts towards that goal.
Of course, Laviolette joked he will be asked this question again when the Rangers play their next opponent if that game will have extra meaning. I'm sure he will give the same answer.
The Rangers will be facing off against the Predators tonight at Madison Square Garden before embarking on a five-game road trip.
