Ryan Lindgren completely demolishes Senators captain Brady Tkachuk with a heavy hit
The New York Rangers and Ottawa Senators are battling it out tonight at Madison Square Garden.
The Rangers have taken the lead with an Artemi Panarin goal, with an assist by Alexis Lafreniere 3:03 into the 1st period.
The Rangers look to continue their dominance tonight on ice, and Ryan Lindgren is making sure of it.
Tonight with 12:40 left in the 1st period Lindgren trucked Ottawa Senators Captain Brady Tkachuk.
The hit was demolishing, despite Lindgren didn't seem to put much force into it! But it sure was a beauty in depriving the Senators of offensive capabilities in the defensive zone.
Not only that, Lindgren made sure to protect Igor Shesterkin, the golden goose of the New York Rangers early in the game.
The "Warrior" in New York is thriving and hasn't forgotten he recently signed a 1-year $4.5 Million contract during the off-season.
Lindgren tonight has played 6:05 TOI, with 2 hits and seven shifts taken against the Senators.
If he can keep this kind of play up, and add a little bit of offensive flair it'd show the Rangers he's back.
«It was awesome to have him back in there,» Laviolette said about Lindgren. «He's a real good defender and plays heavy minutes and hard minutes for us. Jumping back in for the first time is never an easy thing, but I thought he played a pretty good game for coming back in.»
Laviolette has decided to pair Lindgren with Jacob Trouba tonight, which by all means, is a devastating defense pair.
Is this the Ranger's idea of the "Brothers of Destruction"(WWE's Kane and Undertaker) in the NHL?
