With the New York Rangers feeling the pain with Filip Chytil absent from the lineup, they could look to trades to help fill the gap in the third-line center role.

Rumour: Vincent Z. Mercogliano of Lohud had a recent mailbag about how the Blueshirts may improve their roster. We talked adding to the defence in a previous edition of NHL rumours. However, we focus on possible forward help for New York.

That center help could come from the Western Conference and the Seattle Kraken, as they could make a move for Yanni Gourde.

Former Tampa Bay Lightning forward Yanni Gourde has been the subject of trade rumors this season. It is only continuing as we inch closer to December, as NHL insider Chris Johnston included the former Bolt in his latest trade board for The Athletic.

Gourde is a former Stanley Cup champion and a part of the third line that was vital to two Stanley Cups. The Rangers have already rostered someone like Barclay Goodrow and have decided he wasn't a fit.

Gourde could center, Will Cuylle, and Kaapo Kakko and could provide the kind of play and leadership needed to keep the Rangers in the hunt, as the bottom-six is looking thin lately.

Gourde has a cap hit of $5.167 Million AAV, and if the Kraken aren't contenders soon could the Rangers make a move for him?

The New York Rangers could look to add a former Ranger, Frank Vatrano who last season scored 37 goals in Anaheim.

He received an All-Star nod, during his 37 goals, and 60-point season, and if GM Chris Drury could make a deal with Pat Verbeek they could get a legitimate goal-scorer at a discount at a $3.65 Million AAV.

Vatrano originally arrived in New York in 2022 from Florida, the Panthers would receive a Fourth Round pick in the 2022 Draft for the forward.

Vatrano would play 22 games in New York, scoring 13 points( 8 G, 5 A) and is familiar with the Rangers already.

He'd be a good cultural fit and a possible top-six solution to a team that needs more firepower.
