The New York Islander' Ilya Sorokin is just giving goals away today, as the Rangers potted 1st goal of the game.

The goal was a beautiful short-handed goal which saw the bromance between Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider tallied the goal at 3:44 into the 1st period.

Peter Laviolette had recently changed the lineup to help give Mika Zibanejad a spark, and it came just not at 5v5.

The goal was a mix of beautiful passing between the two who up until recently were mainstays on the 2nd line.

Here you can see the chemistry on the ice as they deftly cut through the Islanders' defense, and Kreider potted the goal from the right side of the goal.

Sorokin never saw it coming!

«Just to give it a change. That's three out of four games where I don't think we've taken it the way we want to offensively, so we gave it a different look in practice,» Laviolette said after the workout in Tarrytown. «Again, if we went and dominated [Friday's] game. We won the game, that's good. We're in the game-winning business.

The goal was Zibanejad's 3 of the season, giving him 8 points( 3 G, 5 A) in 11 games for the New York Rangers.

In addition, it's a goal on special teams which means the Rangers might've found what helps him.

It's Kreids.

Chris Kreider's short-handed give-and-go assists and gives him 7 points( 6 G, 1 A) in 11 games for the Rangers.

Peter Laviolette's offense is running hot, and his penalty kill is better described as a power-kill.

Could this be evidence that the Rangers are gearing up for another President's Trophy run? Or a Stanley Cup?

«I think it changes from game to game,» Laviolette said about what he wants to see from the Kreider, Zibanejad and Smith line. «I think it's just about finding that consistency with them game after game after game, where nine out of ten times I'm happy with it. It's just the consistency. They are capable players, they are good players.»

Is this the start of consistency for Kreider?

Nevertheless, what a shorty!
