The New York Rangers have great depth this season and the numbers to prove it.

The Rangers have played three games this season, and have had a mass amount of contributors on the team.
Eleven different Rangers this season have scored a goal during these three games in 2024-2025.
Scoring depth of this caliber is helpful, as the team is looking to run it back to win a Stanley Cup and not just the Eastern Conference Finals as they did in 2023-2024.
"It's coming in different ways," head coach Peter Laviolette said following Wednesday's practice the MSG Training Center. "It's coming off the rush. It's coming off faceoff plays. It's coming off (offensive)-zone plays and the opposition's coverage. So, it's coming in different ways, which I think is a good thing. It's coming contributions from different lines, as well. I think that's a real positive."

Laviolette idea of getting the forwards and importantly, the pucks to the net has delivered amazing results, as the scoring by committee has been the name of the game lately.
"Every line's a bit different with their game plan, but I think as a team, we're obviously getting bodies to the net and delivering pucks to the net," forward Will Cuylle said. "Lavi is big on lots of volume to the net and always trying to get those zone-one chances in the house and right on top of crease. We're just trying to get those quality looks in tight where most of the goals are scored from. A lot of them have probably come from there."

The most noticeable development is that scoring is up. The Rangers have poured in 15 goals for a nice, round average of five per game, with 11 of those tallies coming at five-on-five. That was a touchy subject for them last season when they averaged only 2.04 goals per game at 5v5 and saw that number drop to 1.69 in the playoffs, including a measly 1.17 with seven 5v5 goals in six Eastern Conference Final games against the eventual champion Florida Panthers.

These 11 contributors this season are as follows: Artemi Panarin, Reilly Smith, Chris Kreider, Alexis Lafreniere, Mika Zibanejad, Will Cuylle, Vinnie Troecheck, Filip Chytil, Braden Schneider, K'Andre Miller, and Sam Carrick.
Quite the laundry list of Rangers players who have already made a significant contribution to early season success.
The team is 2nd in the Metropolitan Division, with a 2-0-1 record, and looks to dethrone the New Jersey Devils who with Sheldon Keefe(what?!?!) as bench boss, lead the division.
