The NHL started the regular season more than a week ago, and teams are still tweaking their lineups.

One of those is the Carolina Hurricanes, who up until recently had former Rangers enforcer Brendan Lemieux in the lineup.
But today, the Hurricanes placed Lemiieux on waivers for the purpose of reassignment to the AHL.
He will be heading to the AHL's Chicago Wolves if he isn't claimed by anyone in the NHL.

Lemieux most recent claim to fame was biting Brady Tkachuk in 2021, where JomBoy Media would detail the entire penalty.
It was quite hilarious, but Lemieux himself has never been known as a reliable producer or forward in the NHL.
Last season in Carolina, he played 32 games for the team, scoring 5 points( 3 G, 2 A), and has never eclipsed his career-high 18 points in 2019-2020 with the New York Rangers.
Lemieux was picked in the second round, 31st overall, by the Buffalo Sabres at the 2014 NHL Draft. He has carved out a rugged career in the NHL to date. In 307 games, he has 36 goals and 38 assists to complement 548 penalty minutes. The power forward has played for the Winnipeg Jets, New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings, Philadelphia Flyers, and most recently, the Hurricanes.

The 28-year-old recently signed a one-year contract with the Carolina Hurricanes for a league minimum of 775K.
At the expiration of his next deal, he'll be 29 in 2025 and has failed to find a home in the NHL, as at this point he could be considered a journeyman.
But could this year solidify him as someone who plays significant time in the minors?
Unlike father and agent Claude he didn't have the scoring touch which could help him land a long-term role in the bigs.
The son of former NHL winger Claude Lemieux is every bit as irritating to play against as his father was, though he still has to get better at not going over the line to hurt his own team. He is the type of player who can be an emotional catalyst and jump-start a team when it looks flat. He does not have his dad's scoring touch and needs some work defensively, but he skates well and has enough offensive skill to work his way up the lineup.

Looks like he's destined for a grinder or goon role and maybe he should consider firing his agent. He's not helped him out during his career, has he?
