The New York Rangers have received troubling news regarding forward Chris Kreider, as today he missed practice.

Ahead of the Detroit Red Wings game, the New York Rangers have learned that Kreider may not be available for the game, since he missed practice today.
News like this is not welcome, as the Rangers are attempting to make a run at the Stanley Cup and a good start to the season helps.
He was part of the same team who won the President's Trophy in 2023-2024, as the best team in the NHL.
While Kreider is sick he will travel with the Rangers, while they face off against the Red Wings during their three-game road trip.
Kreider leads the Rangers with three goals, scoring one of each variety - even strength, power play and short-handed - to begin his 13th season with the Blueshirts. He scored two goals in a season-opening 6-0 win at the Pittsburgh Penguins, including his 10th short-handed goal since the 2021-22 season. He then added a power-play goal - the game winner - in a 4-1 victory against the Red Wings at Madison Square Garden on Monday.
In 2023-2024, Kreider played all 82 games, and it paid off as he scored 39 goals and 75 points.
He's started off hot in 2024, as a point-per-game played scoring 3 points(3 G, 0 A) in 3 games with the Rangers.
Since 2021-2022, the Rangers Alternate Captain has only missed 4 games in the last 2 years.
In his place, Jonny Brodzinski has found himself on the top-line skating alongside Mika Zibanejad, and Reilly Smith during practice.
For now we don't know if Brodzinski would play on the top-line during Thursday's game against the Detroit Red Wings, or this was just for practice.
But missing a key forward at any point in the season is painful, and this isn't a good start.
