Former New York Rangers defenseman retires from hockey to take on new coaching position

Former Ranger defenseman Anton Stralman

Former NHL veteran and New York Rangers defenseman Anton Stralman has officially announced his retirement from the National Hockey League.

Stralman has played over 900 career NHL games with various teams, such as the New York Rangers, Boston Bruins, Toronto Maple Leafs, and many more. However he has now officially retired from at the age of 38-years old.
According to recent reports, Stralman wants to pursue a career in coaching women's soccer, more specifically coaching the Skultorps which is a Swedish women's soccer club.
"Stralman played 938 games in the NHL from 2007-2023 with the Toronto Maple Leafs 🇨🇦, Columbus Blue Jackets 🇺🇸, New York Rangers 🇺🇸, Tampa Bay Lightning 🇺🇸, Florida Panthers 🇺🇸, Arizona Coyotes 🇺🇸, and Boston Bruins 🇺🇸 - scoring 63 goals and 293 points in that span.

He also played 59 games with Sweden's national team 🇸🇪 from 2006-2017, scoring 15 goals, 31 points and winning Gold at the 2017 IIHF World Championship, and Bronze at the 2009 IIHF World Championship

He also played professionally over the course of his career with:
Skövde IK (Allsvenskan) 🇸🇪 / 2004-05
Timr IK (Elitserien) 🇸🇪 / 2005-07
Providence Bruins (AHL) 🇺🇸 / 2022-23
HV71 (SHL) 🇸🇪 / 2023-24"
