The New York Rangers Make A Game-changing donation to this fan

The New York Rangers went and did something great for one fan this weekend.

Henrik Lundqvist and the Rangers welcomed fan Spencer Thompson to Madison Square Garden, along with Chase and the Garden of Dreams Foundation.

Spencer is a long-time fan of Henrik Lundqvist, who made an appearance via video at to congratulate him on starting his freshman year at West Virginia University, where he studies Sports Media and Finance.

Lundqvist would later come out and be the one to award Spencer $10K towards his education.

What better way to spend Saturday night than to meet your heroes, and have your favorite team help contribute to your future?

Mr. Thompson worked through hemiplegia, every day of his life, which is a form of cerebral palsy. He's gone through physical therapy and it seems the hard work pays off.

Spencer was so visibly excited by the gesture of Lundqvist and the Rangers, you can't help but feel great about it.

Not to mention that, but he got to meet his favorite player after all, Mika Zibanejad who was filmed talking to Spencer and his mother after the game.

The Garden of Dreams Foundation is a non-profit organization that works with all areas of The Madison Square Garden Company including the New York Rangers, Knicks, Liberty, MSG Entertainment, MSG Networks and Fuse to make dreams come true for kids facing obstacles. Henrik Lundqvist is currently serving as the spokesperson for the GODF and has been since the Fall of 2009. All donations and fundraising efforts will help Garden of Dreams continue to help children in the tri-state area by creating unique and unforgettable events and activities - often involving unprecedented access to Madison Square Garden celebrities, events and venues - that have brightened the lives of thousands and thousands of special children and their families.Garden of Dreams is grateful for monetary donations in any amount!
