The New York Rangers are preparing for their final game of this five game road stretch against the Winnipeg Jets, where they will hope to go 5-0 and complete the road sweep.

The Rangers will be boasting one of the best goaltenders in the league in Igor Shesterkin, who will get the start tonight.

Another goalie in contention for the best in the league? Connor Hellebuyck, who will also be the goalie for the Jets tonight.

These two so far aren't having the start everyone expected to their team. Each played four games.

Hellebuyck has a goal against average of 2.99. Shesterkin's is 2.60. Hellebuyck's save percentage is .899, Shesterkin's is .900.

Both these numbers are not encouraging to see for their respective teams, but it's the start of the year, and they will get to mid season form soon enough.

What I can say is encouraging though is the sustained excellence Shesterkin has given to the team for the last seasons.

Dating back to 2021-2022 season, the Rangers have had the second best goals against average in the league. Only the Boston Bruins have been better.

Also let's not forget Saturday's brilliance against the Vancouver Canucks, where Shesterkin stopped 30 of 33 shots, and also delivered this incredible, clutch save in overtime to keep the Rangers alive and even left Canucks winger, Andrei Kuzmenko, dazed in disbelief.

This will not be an easy game, the Rangers will struggle to score with Hellebuyck on the other side.

But as long as we have Shesterkin, we always have the opportunity to win!

The Rangers will soon be playing against the Winnipeg Jets, at Canada Life Centre, in Winnipeg.
