Rangers Winger Feeling The Emotions Playing Against Former Team
The New York Rangers are preparing for their upcoming matchup against the Winnipeg Jets tonight.
It'll be emotional for Blake Wheeler, who stayed with the team for 12 seasons. It's his first time back at Winnipeg since joining the Rangers this season.
Here he is, speaking to reporters on how he feels returning back to the arena of his old team:
Originally drafted fifth overall by the Arizona Coyotes (formerly known as the Phoenix Coyotes) in the 2005 NHL draft, he ended up signing an entry-level contract with the Boston Bruins when the Coyotes were not able to come to terms with him.
So far this season since joining the Rangers, he has failed to record a single point in eight games played.
Hopefully the return to face his old team will provide a spark that will have him light it up in the score board.
The Rangers will be looking to win their fifth straight game tonight, against the Winnipeg Jets, at Canada Life Centre, in Winnipeg.
Milestone alert!
The Rangers are 12 wins away from the franchise 3,000th win!
