Coyotes owner Alex Mereulo addresses Coyotes employees
It's been an unprecedented last 24 to 48 hours in the Arizona Coyotes organization after fans, employees and the rest of the NHL learned of the fate of the Arizona Coyotes relocating to Utah.
Coyotes owner Alex Mereulo addressed his staff with a statement that was officially made to try to calm the waters.
Safe to say it failed.
In typical bureaucratic statements, Mereulo made no update whatsoever and offered no insight of what's in store next for his employees and the organization.
According to several news reports, the Coyotes operations and players will be sold to the NHL for $1 billion to which Ryan Smith of the Utah Jazz will turn around to pay 1.2 billion to acquire them.
Doing this style of expansion will give Meruelo a 5-year window to win his land, build an arena and reactivate the Coyotes franchise within the next few years.
It's certainly a tough day for coyotes fans and the organization as many felt that this would not happen especially with the upcoming land auction.
