National Hockey League brings back 50-year old Stanley Cup Playoff tradition
National Hockey League brings back historic tradition for this years Stanley Cup Playoffs
The NHL has brought back a 50-year old tradition that hasn't been seen since the 1960's, where they presented the Stanley Cup prior to puck drop.
Over the past 60 years, the cup has been kept hidden until the final team wins their final game in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, but NHL commissioner Gary Bettman has changed things this year!
The ultimate prize is in the building.🏆
Back in 2020 during the COVID-19 era of hockey, the Stanley Cup was presented in the stands, but nothing compares to this tradition, with having the Cup on the ice in front of the players.
