The Toronto Maple Leafs Have Made A Major Coaching Decision
The Toronto Maple Leafs announce that Sheldon Keefe has been relieved of head coaching duties. That's now 18 NHL head coaching changes since the end of last season.
Keefe had a two-year extension remaining that had not kicked in yet. The organization will immediately begin the search for a new head coach.
Keefe replaced Mike Babcock in November, 2019 and ranks fifth in Maple Leafs coaching victories. The Maple Leafs have won only one playoff series under his tenure.
