Edmonton Oilers superstar Connor McDavid under fire for disrespecting Gary Bettman and the Conn Smythe Trophy.

Despite the Oilers losing in game seven of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Conn Smythe Trophy was awarded to the Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid.

On Monday night the Oilers just fell short to the Florida Panthers in a must-win game 7 with the final score being 2-1, but Connor McDavid was awarded the Conn Smythe because he was able to break Wayne Gretzky's all-time assist record in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

After Gary Bettman made the announcement that Connor McDavid as the winner many expected him to come back on the ice and accept the award but he did not.

However, despite the circumstances fans are were fuming that Connor McDavid wasn't present to accept the award, as many fans believe that Sergei Bobrovsky should have been named the Conn Smythe Trophy winner.

«Bob was robbed McDavid doesn't show up again when it matters»

«Absolutely great playoff run. However if you have 0 points in game 7 I don't think you should get the MVP.»
