The New York Rangers and New Jersey Devils rivalry is huge. The players and the fans hate each other so much, and the two states are just an hour away from one another.
Well, the Rangers rival made an offseason move today.
The New Jersey Devils have re-signed defenseman Nick DeSimone to a one year, one-way contract at $775,000.
DeSimone, 29 years old, was on his way to the free agent market on July 1st. Now, he stays in New Jersey. This is DeSimone's first one-way contract in his career.
DeSimone wasn't that impressive on the Devils after being claimed off of waivers mid-season, only playing in 11 games. He had a goal and an assist in those 11 games.
This will be his second NHL stint after being in the AHL for his whole career.
