Stanley Cup Champion breaks an extremely important rule after winning the Cup
Stanley Cup winner Matthew Tkachuk broke an extremely important rule during his celebration with the Cup.
Florida Panthers forward, Matthew Tkachuk decided to completely ignore the rules that follow after winning the Stanley Cup.
A recent report from David Dwork of The Hockey News stated that Tkachuk took the Cup into the extremely salty Atlantic Ocean. However Tkachuk claims he had no idea that was even a rule.
"We had nobody with us to say, Matthew, don't be an idiot.'"
Matthew Tkachuk didn't know it was against the rules to take the Stanley Cup into the ocean. It also wasn't his idea, and he's making sure proper credit is given.
Matthew Tkachuk even stated it wasn't his idea and would have not done it if he knew, he also starting pointing the finger and puts the blame on his brother Brady Tkachuk, the captain of the Ottawa Senators, who apparently gave him the idea to take the Cup into the ocean.
However, at the end of the day it looks like Tkachuk has gotten away with braking this rule as it seems like Gary Bettman won't be issuing any fines.
