Players Enter IR, Igor Also Banged Up As Recalls Mounts
The Rangers are filled with horrible injury news and more recalls today.
The Rangers first announce the placement of center Filip Chytil on injured reserve due to a head injury, he will miss at least seven days.
What this does for the cap space? Absolutely nothing. It only frees up a roster spot.
Defenseman Adam Fox, has been placed on long term injured reserve from the knee-to-knee hit with Sebastian Aho, which requires him to miss a minimum of 10 games and 24 days.
What this does is it gave the team about $9.5M in available space, which is how they can recall more players to the team which we will mention a bit later.
More injury news unfortunately as Igor Shesterkin was banged up in last night's win against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Jonathan Quick will definitely be making the start tomorrow at goaltender against the Minnesota Wild.
They recalled goaltender Louis Domingue, from the Hartford Wolf Pack as back-up to Quick. Quick was already scheduled to make the start against the Minnesota Wild tomorrow.
Here was the injury Shesterkin sustained in yesterday's game.
We will continue to update with more news on recalls and the cap space situation next.
