The Rangers are dealing with injuries to two of their main players.

With defenseman Adam Fox, from a lower-body injury, and center Filip Chytil, from an upper-body injury.

Some sources have been mentioning a 2-4 week timetable return for Adam Fox. But until we hear directly from the Rangers organization, it's all speculation for now.

What we can confirm is Filip Chytil will be out for some time. How long is unsure. But the Rangers have recalled Jonny Brodzinski from the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Brodzinski was selected by the Los Angeles Kings in the fifth round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. He left the Kings in October 2020, and signed as a free agent a one-year, two-way contract with the New York Rangers.

On February 2022, he signed a two-year contract extension with the Rangers. He has played a total of 101 NHL games, scoring nine goals and 17 points total.

Our good friends at Capfriendly confirm that with this signing, the Rangers have less than $8,000 in cap space.

To say they are cap strained would be the understatement of the year.

It's unsure if the Rangers had any plans to recall a defenseman in place of Adam Fox, but with the nearly nonexistent cap space availability, it's more likely they will run a five-man defensive rotation, with either Jacob Trouba or K'Andre Miller moving up to the first line, and spreading the minutes on ice to everyone.

We will continue to update as more information becomes available.
