Controversy sparks after embellishment call goes unanswered in game 1
The first period of the Rangers Vs Panthers Eastern Conference Finals game just goes to show how this series will be for the next week or so.
Early on in the first period both teams came out big, trying to show who the more dominant team was. During a faceoff Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba seemed to have caught Nick Cousin's with a «high stick».
After viewing it in slow motion you can that Trouba just barely grazed Cousins in the face, but of course Nick Cousins had to go the extra mile trying to sell it.
And that's when all the controversy starts because whether you view it as a high stick or embellishment, the referees need to do a better job making sure they don't miss a situation like this as it can be a crucial call for either team.
