Today the National Hockey League announced this year's Jack Adams Award winner for coach of the year.

The NHL announced Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet as the 2023-24 Jack Adam's Award winner.

Announcement by the NHL:

TOCCHET APPEARED AS A TOP-3 PICK ON 109 OF 114 BALLOTS & RECEIVED 82 FIRST-PLACE VOTES AFTER LEADING THE CANUCKS TO DRAMATIC GAINS OVER 2022-23, CLIMBING FROM 22ND TO 6TH IN THE OVERALL NHL STANDINGS IN HIS FIRST FULL SEASON WITH VANCOUVER.

However, many Rangers fans are left furious as they believe Peter Laviolette should have been the winner after such an amazing job he's been doing this year.

With 82 regular season games he lead his to 55 wins, 23 losses including 4 overtime losses as well. Leading his team to the Eastern Conference Finals with an impressive 8-2 record.

Then again Tocchet won the voting by a long shot compared to any other coaches that made the list. Keep in mind he Jack Adams voting, is voted on by the NHL Broadcasters Association.
