For the past couple of weeks since the news broke that Rangers centre Filip Chytil was lost to injury for the remainder of the season started a tidal wave of rumours across the web on what the Rangers will do as the trade deadline approaches in early March.

It became clear that many of the rumours were focused on the Anaheim Ducks who are currently sitting at the bottom of the NHL standings with no sign of improvement over the next couple of years.
The Ducks have several players who are available for trade and who would help the Rangers but one has poured cold water on his wanting to leave who is former Rangers winger Frank Vatrano.
Vatrano, spent one season with the Rangers in 2021-2022 where he played 22 games, scored eight goals with five assists for 13 points and was a + 6.
Even though Vatrano has enjoyed his time in Anaheim so far, as he mentions it's out of his control and if Ducks general manager Pat Verbeek finds a deal with the Rangers that he likes, Vatrano will be back in a Rangers uniform after March 8th.
It would be expected that he would be part of a package deal including a third line centre which is what the Rangers desperately need now.
Vatrano is having a better year this year where he has played 50 games, has scored 22 goals, 14 assists for 36 points and has 55 penalty minutes.
