Elliotte Friedman reveals what the Rangers will have to pay to acquire top defensive trade target

The New York Rangers are in a very worrisome spot, as they are dealing with a series of unfortunate injuries with the NHL Trade Deadline being exactly one-week away.
Recently the New York Rangers have lost their top defensemen Adam Fox to a upper-body injury, which leaves them in a tough spot as they try to secure a playoff spot.
Since before Adam Fox's injury, the New York Rangers were linked to Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Seth Jones, who has recently requested a trade from Chicago.
While it's not been official, he's been negotiating in the media sphere and has been unhappy with the team since the start of the season.
But now this could be a turning point for the Rangers who are missing a key piece in line up, Adam Fox missing.
He could wind-up being a replacement for the Rangers who have sent Zac Jones down the Hartford Wolfpack.
"Since Miller and Fox are expected to miss time," explains Rubenstein, "the best available defenseman Seth Jones in Chicago, who is an 'RHD' and a Top Four defender and would replace Fox.

Chicago Blackhawks asking price for defenseman Seth Jones
The New York Rangers may have to pay a hefty sum for Jones as he carries a $9.5 million dollar cap hit, but we all know what he's capable of on the right side of the blue line.
However, it was just revealed what the Blackhawks are looking for in return for Seth Jones and it's definitely something the New York Rangers have. According to Elliotte Friedman, the Blackhawks are looking for younger players.

The Rangers have plenty of young talent that they may be able to trade for Jones. Brennan Othmann, Brett Berard, and even Braden Schneider.
The only issue that stands between Jones and the Rangers is his no-movement clause (NMC), so Jones would obviously would have to want to come to New York.
