According to recent reports this morning, the Providence Bruins General Manager Evan Gold announced that the Providence Bruins have officially signed former Rangers forward Tyler Pitlick to an American Hockey League Professional Tryout contract(PTO).
As we reported earlier last week there were rumours that the Bruins were going to offer Pitlick a contract, and ultimately those rumours ended up being true.
The report stated that they were trying to get a deal done whether it be an NHL deal or AHL, they were working on it.
Just last season Pitlick played 34 games for the New York Rangers, and while doing so he managed to only tally four points, one goal and three assists with a plus/minus of -6. However throughout his 10-year professional career he made 420 NHL appearances scoring a total of 109 points (53 goals, 53 assists).
Back in February of 2023, Pitlick was reassigned to the Rangers AHL affiliate team, the Hartford Wolfpack, where he ironically scored his first goal against the Bruins in November of 2023.
Along with that, the veteran has appeared in 420 NHL games tallying 56 goals, and 53 assists for a total of 109 points with 8 different organizations including the Edmonton Oilers, Dallas Stars, Philadelphia Flyers, Arizona Coyotes, Calgary Flames, Montreal Canadiens, St. Louis Blues, and New York Rangers.
