Former head coach of the New York Rangers has just landed himself a new coaching position.

During a recent announcement from the Athletic, New York reporter Arthur Staple, reported that David Quinn will be joining the Pittsburgh Penguins coaching staff as Todd Reirden's replacement.

David Quinn's has quite the experience as he was the former head coach of the New York Rangers and San Jose Sharks, and will now be coaching alongside head coach and fellow Boston University alumni, Mike Sullivan.

Quinn coached the New York Rangers for three seasons from 2018 to 2021 and then joined the San Jose Sharks from 2022-24.

When the San Jose Sharks began the season with a historic 11-game losing streak they decided to relive 57-year old David Quinn of his duties behind the bench, clearly it wasn't the coaching staff as the Sharks finished with the worst record in the NHL.

Quinn and Sullivan have a long friendship, dating back to their time as teammates at Boston University from 1986-1988, so this just might be the perfect coaching staff for the Penguins.
