King Henrik Speaks On Playing In His First Game Since 2020
The man, the myth, the king!
Henrik Lundqvist will be suiting up for the first time since 2020, for the 2023 Hyundai Hall Of Fame Classic next month, and it'll be great seeing him back on the ice once more.
On X, he posts exactly what we all were thinking.
We never knew he would return back in the ice until yesterday.
This is a special occasion and a time we might never see again.
Henrik retired after the 2020-2021 season, requiring an open-heart surgery that was performed in January 2021.
Since then, he's joined TNT as a full time studio analyst.
The Swedish Native is the only goaltender in NHL history to record eleven 30-win seasons in his first twelve seasons.
He also was nominated for three Vezina Trophies, winning one in 2012.
He also holds the record for most wins by a European-born goaltender in the NHL.
King Henrik will be returning to the ice on Team Nieuwendyk Sunday, November 12, at Scotiabank Arena, in Toronto.
